Beachy Wave How To

Sick of having to take a beach vacation to get those beautifully done-yet-undone beachy waves? Want not… Try scrunching products like Surf Spray or Texture from Bumble and Bumble in your tresses. Follow by taking large sections, twisting, then air drying. If your hair needs a little more encouragement, try applying strong, flake free products such as Bumble and Bumble’s Gellac and Styling Creme all over when the hair is wet. Then braid your hair into two large loose braids allowing them to dry completely. Follow with undoing the braids and running your fingers to break the set. Voila! your will be beach ready in a snap.

July is Curly Hair Month!

July is Curly hair month at Texture! With humidity running rampid, it’s best to skip the flat iron and embrace your natural texture! Encourage curls by using a smoothing shampoo and conditioner. A great one for ALL curl types is Bumble and Bumble’s Curl Conscious Smoothing Shampoo and Conditioner. Instead of viciously towel drying your curls (causing excess frizz and loss of much needed moisture) try an extra soft towel, paper towel, or an old t-shirt and gently scrunch  the excess water out. Using your favorite curl product, (we love Bumble and Bumble’s Curl Conscious Defining Creme and Holding Foam) scrunch hair starting at the ends and work towards the roots. Then, taking curl sized sections, begin twisting each section in different directions for a natural feel. Do this all over until your entire head has been twisted. Follow with diffusing or air drying for beautiful curls.
